[font color="#000080"]Hi,
On my way back from school today, i found a piece of wood lying on the ground.
It looked great, so i decided to make it a drift wood.
I've already put it in hot water for about 2 hours now.
But it's still floating. The water turned tea colour.
What else do i need to do? How do i make it sink?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Jimmy

Jimmy.
I would just soak it in clean water for a couple of weeks and keep changing the water regually. Each time you change the water give the piece of wood a good stiff brushing and hose down. Before you place it back into clean water.
To make it sink put a clean house brick on top of it.

Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.

It'd likely be good to give it a boil for a few moments (dont' go for more than 20 as boiling can break up the cell walls of the wood causing it to degrade sooner) to help kill any nasties.

After boiling any clean rock or heavy item will help to keep it submerged. If you use warm water (toss in a heater if you've got a spare) will also help make it sink faster, and release the tannins (the brown you saw).

^_^
