The tank has natural gravel, with a natural background, and a fake log in it, but I still don't think it looks good, so I need some Ideas to make it look better. Any suggestions would be grateful !

plants!
either plastic or better yet - real.
they'll make the tank look much better, and will also benefit to the welfare of the fish.
bettas love plants, aspecially broad leafs.

You need some real plants. Maybe an Anubia & you can attach it with the Fake log.

Plants and more plants naturally all live.

Post a photo to me a better idea and I will get back to you.

You have not stated the tank size ins or its shape round, square etc.

Keith, I cant post any picture unfortanetly because I do not have a camera. The tank is rectangular, and has 2 female bettas in it.

It Has : Natural Gravel

A Natural Background

1 ornamental log - in the centre of the tank

1 fake plant - to theleft of the log

I do have more plants, is it a case of the more plants the better ?? I do want to allow some swimming room for the girls.

they're not fast swimers, so they can find the swiming room between the plants. one of the bettas i had loved to stay between the stems of some stem plants i had. they don't find plants all that restricting.

on the other hand, for aesthetics sake and in order for you to actually see the fish, don't add too many plants.

To add height use a tall slim piece of DW that will support its self.

Place this 1/3 from the LH end add one larger smooth rock with three smaller ones to its right but at the base. Place three green plants all same variety one larger and two smaller ones to the Left of the DW. You can do this very easly using artifical plants.

From that area moving towards the RH side you could add three very small and low plants with a few very small flat scatered rocks this should give it an overall shape and look very peaceful.

Thanks Guys for the advice, yesterday I did it now it looks much better. I added 2 more plants, 1 reed type, and and much larger plant on the right of the log, they seem to like swimming around it. Thanks again !
