Don't know quite how that's possible, as I used to look forward to drooling over the entries every month. Maybe you should place a reminder in the "general Freshwater" and "General Marine" forums to keep the contest going and get more participation. BTW, I'm jealous of these tanks. |

As I mentioned in [link=The entries post]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/Aquascaping/53777.html" style="COLOR: #EB4288[/link] there were not enough entries for the catagories to be judged. I can only hope that the next contest will have more support both in the non planted and themed catagories as well as salt water. ^_^ |

Falstaf Fish Addict Posts: 785 Kudos: 1211 Votes: 196 Registered: 12-Feb-2004 | WOW! Thanks everyone! specially for the nicest comments! Congratulations also to LittleMousling and Dr. Bonke, great tanks!! Babel, thank so much for all your effort and time!!!! It's a 5 Gallon. Wonderful to see all that time payed off, trying to balance aquatic, floating and submerged plants and then fish in there It IS a difficult tank because of all the refraction and optical illusions that the shape causes but it's also very fun to work with. Thanks again!! And i would be thilled to read the judges comments. |

Dr. Bonke Moderator Posts: 367 Kudos: 215 Votes: 36 Registered: 15-Apr-2004 | Third place, I'm moving up in the world When I saw all the entries in the contest I really had no idea who would turn out the winner, but Falstaf's tank was one of my favourites. I love the way the entire setup forms a unity, a little piece of Nature inside the house, and that with such a difficult shape to deal with, wonderful! Littlemousling, great second place entry, your tank has really come together since your last rescape, very nice indeed. Keith, I generally take about 4 to 5 photos and then pick the best one of the set, here I was just plain lucky with the fish |

keithgh *Ultimate Fish Guru* Posts: 6371 Kudos: 6918 Votes: 1542 Registered: 26-Apr-2003 | Congratulations to the winners, the standard is certainly improving, it should give a guide to all future entrants of what to aim at. To all the other entrants if the judges have offered some constructive criticisms and some advice on how to improve your tank take it. I personally think it would help you to create a better Aquascape and make you hobby more enjoyable. Falstaf’s tank is possibly one of the best tanks I have ever seen on FP it has every thing just right. Being a difficult shape to work with you can see there has been a lot of thought or extreme luck to get the colours, shape, and proportions just right. This tank has inspired me to do a Betta Tank. Littlemousling’s tank looks so natural as if nature designed it for her. It shows a simple yet well balanced Aquascape. I liked the balance of the rocks, which sets the theme of the whole tank. Dr Bonk’s tank firstly how many photos did you take to get the fish in possibly the only location in the tank that they stand out to perfection. This tank has used colours to give the contrast in colour. A well balanced and shaped Aquscape another tank that just did not happen it was well planned out. Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. I VOTE DO YOU if not WHY NOT? VOTE NOW VOTE NOW |

Babelfish Administrator Small Fry with Ketchup Posts: 6833 Kudos: 8324 Votes: 1570 Registered: 17-Apr-2003 | At long last they have arrived. Before posting the results I have a few announcements to make. First and foremost if you entered the contest and do NOT want the judges feedback on your tank you need to PM me and let me know. Otherwise they will be sent out via PM next week. Secondly I want to thank everyone for their participation in the past few contests. Each and every tank that has been entered has shared an idea with the FP world. However due to low participation it is likely that future contests will be twice a year if not only yearly. Thirdly...The winners! In Third place with an average score of 35.8 Dr.Bonke In Second place with an average score of 36.1 littlemousling In First place with an average score of 36.5 Falstaf Thank you to all! ^_^ ~Your Friendly Babelfish [hr width='40%'] And though it’s red blood bleeding from her now. That is amazing! *steals falstaf's tank and runs away quickly but quietly* Okay, I am going to go ahead and do what I had planned for my 30 gallon... remove the hood and suspend a light and grow the plants right up out of the tank. I am impressed to see it in the smaller scale. All the tanks are absolutely gorgeous! You should all be VERY proud of them! /:' |

bensaf Fish Master Posts: 1978 Kudos: 1315 Registered: 08-Apr-2004 | Congratulations to all ! I thought this contest had a much higher level of entries (glad they didn't enter last contest )) When I saw the entries I was immediately impressed by Falstaff's tank. An awesome beautiful aqauascape in a tank size and shape that is incredibly difficult to aquascape. Also very original and functional, it's a beautiful piece of decoration for a room.It would have been my pick for the winning spot. Congratulations Roberto, beautiful tank. Little Mouslings tank is great as always and continues to get better. Bonkes tank has always been a favourite of mine and again it's another that gets better everytime. No doubt he'll be a future winner. Babel great job as always Look forward to the next one. djtj Fish Master Posts: 1764 Kudos: 885 Votes: 49 Registered: 20-Feb-2003 | Those first two give me some ideas... By the way, what size tanks are they? As for Falstaf's, I love the tree-trunk idea. It looks like something out of a rainforest. Very original. Last edited by djtj at 25-Feb-2005 19:23 |

Shannen Banned Posts: 1160 Kudos: 1686 Votes: 98 Registered: 17-Feb-2004 | I knew who's tank that was by the shells Molly. Very nice job people. I hope to enter again next time with a bigger tank. The restrictions of space and what I want to do with the one I entered keeps me a tad bit limited. I did overhaul it again lastnight..tho I need to stop scaring the crap outa my fish Edit: Babel feel free to send me comments, I'm very interested in what the judges had to say...It was my first attempt at really planting a tank.
