In my previous post i was asking whether or not to use decorations from lake michigan. Well I went ahead and collected the rocks and prepraed them by boiling baking, and seeing how they affected the water quality. They did not seem to have any affect, so here they are in the tank. I hope it makes my kribs feel more secure and they might come out more!

P.S. I am thinking more plants (low light), what do you think?

I think a black background would give a better emphasis on the rockwork

Nice Tank!

It is not a surfing type of area, but it is really nice sandy beaches and the water is really warm, like 82° towards the end of the summer. Sometimes the waves are big, but nothing like the ocean.

I think it looks great!!!

I myself would add black background, then add two plants that are tall to cover the heater and the filter.

Looks fantastic, but the no background takes away from how nice it really is.

AHHHHHHH i tried to add more plants to the tank and the entire wall of rocks fell down! I was so upset! I tried to build it again but it doesn't look as good. At least the tank and the fish are ok...

Hi,
Now you know why everyone is advised to glue the rocks
together to form a mass. They could have easily cracked
the glass. Probably too late, but you should drain the
tank and then set the rocks in various positions till
you find the one you like. Then take them out be sure
that they are dry, and then glue them in position.
Put the bottom rocks on the glass so that diging fish
don't shift the gravel and cause the pile to become
unstable.

Frank

If you're not up for draining the tank, @least pull the rocks out, scrub the thin layer of algae that will have already grown on them off, figure out the arraingement you want and get them siliconed together before placing them back in. Be careful lifting them up as the silicone does bend and can break apart.
It's not only your tank you're protecting but I have read reports on here of fish getting trapped and killed by falling rocks.
