Sir Eds Small Fry Posts: 9 Kudos: 5 Votes: 0 Registered: 12-Jan-2005 | Just wondering how long a freshwater sand 30 gallon tank takes to settle and look clear? I all ready have a texas chiclid and a convict in there. |

Mike R Fish Addict Posts: 593 Kudos: 830 Votes: 322 Registered: 27-Jul-2004 | IME if it takes a long time to settle, every time you clean or do anything else that disturbs it it'll get cloudy and stay that way for a while. Quikrete commercial sand works great if you decide to pull out what you've got in there now. Getting the old sand out is pretty easy with the hose off your gravel vac.
