Some more anacharis in the back, around the filter intakes, would be good. I'd personally move the foreground plants back a little bit and put some sort of a small carpeting plant in front of them. I'd take the sword out too...IMO they look too big in anything smaller than 125g Other than that, it looks great |

So i'd suggest as scott has, another piece of driftwood, perhaps large and mor prominent. Another option that isn't really seen that often is to create a rock centerpiece, now this is slightly more challenging since the type of rock, number, and size, will control the mood of the tank overall. This makes working with rock a bit harder IMO, and is probably why many more people prefer driftwood. Apart from that I would let it grow in, since growing in will greatly change the look of the tank. It might even be that the sword will work just perfect as a centerpiece. I'd personally chuck the sword and either put a big piece of tallish granite or slate (something darkish, methinks), or put in a tall piece of driftwood that leans over a little bit to the right... Maybe something like this... (the T's are places that'd be good for plants that attach to driftwood) PoisonWaffle attached this image: Last edited by PoisonWaffle at 02-Jun-2005 23:51[/font] |

hca Fish Addict Posts: 783 Kudos: 434 Votes: 211 Registered: 06-Mar-2004 | Thank you all- I knew I could get some good suggestions. Actually there is anachris in the whole left corner- the picture cut most of it out. There is Giant vall in front of the intake, but it majorly went into transplant shock, and most of the tall leaves were lost. Im waiting for the new shoots to grow up and cover the filter intake. I agree it needs something, and have another peice of drift wood i can add to the tank. It was in this tank, but its akward to work with. Its about a foot long, and makes almost a C shape but not quite- one end is very thin, the other about 8 in wide. Ill play with a bit, and see what it looks like on the right side. The sword drives me crazy- I wanted it to get taller- But its growing wider and wider, not taller. Ive had it about a year, and ive got 4 baby swords in there from it. It got tall once, then "melted". I may just chuck it or drastically prune it back as now its wider( probably 16 " vs the tanks 12" than the tank. Any more suggestions?? |

Hows it look now?? edit to add multiple links to picts. Last edited by hca at 04-Jun-2005 13:20 Last edited by hca at 04-Jun-2005 13:21 Last edited by bensaf at 05-Jun-2005 10:17 |

I would suggest using the driftwood for that vertical statement, stand it on end!
