My plants adored it, but I hated it. Even after rinsing (and rinsing and rinsing and RINSING...) there was still a cloud of dust anytime I moved things around in the tank. Even gravel vaccing was a chore, as the tank would be vaguely cloudy afterwards. I've heard that if you rinse the flourite, then allow it to dry before putting it in the tank, it keeps down the dust factor. I don't know how accurate this is, but I thought I'd bring that up. Long story short, I wound up ripping out the flourite and putting down regular gravel. My aponogetons aren't flourishing as they were before, but I'm happier with the setup. ~Meow. You might try searching some of the planted tank forums like http://www.plantedtank.com]http://www.plantedtank.com[/link] or [link=http://www.aquabotanic.com. A quick google search for me only turned up a lot of websites in German, so I couldn't find any good info. |

I can't say whether one is comparable to the other in terms of the benefit to plants though. |

I've added it to my "favorites" to pass on to other folks with ??. Frank -->>> The Confidence of Amateurs, is the Envy of Professionals <<<-- |
