Well, there's the tank--however, it looks unfinished to me, especially the left hand side and towards the center...suggestions would be helpful.

yea, i also get that feeling, maybe plant something tall and bushy like aponos or swords of some sort, or get a taller piece of driftwood, and have it at an upward slant, and put a bunch of java fern/moss on it

Actually ...I think you want to build up the right side...especially to hide the heater . In fact if you drew a line down from where the red dial on the heater is ...that area to the right should be built up to create a diagonal starting low @the left rising to the right.
You'll have to keep the right lowit's almost a bit too high as it is...and let the java fill in the driftwood :88).

Here is my little contribution. Having the steady even curve giving the hollow center is always pleasing to the eye.

Could the heater be moved to the back LH corner?

The plant type I would use at the RH end would be tallish yet open leafy type preferably in a large clump coming towards the front RH end tapering of to a few at the front.

The opposite end LH I would go for a tall strong heavy leaf several again 3,5,7, this would depend on the full growing size of the plant.

At the front LH corner possibly another piece of DW with small plants but this time the wood close to the LH side running towards the back LH corner.

I hope all this makes sense.
I will post a photo of the basic shape

I don't get it...so more gravel on the right? If so, then yeah, I agree-I'll probably get around to purchasing some tonight.

Also, I can't be assed to have swords in a ten gallon . I need some room for my fish to swim.

Keith; thanks. That is exactly what I had in mind--so would more barteri on the side do the trick--as well as giving a good pruning to the frazeri?

Sorry that wasn't clear.

Oh, I see...and agree. I will see to it once the hairgrass stops melting on me (conversion between emersed and submerged growth ).

I like the RH side. I'd leave it be, just let the hairgrass fill in and leave it open. But the heater needs to be moved.

One species of something small leaved for the LH corner. Planted thickly. Some like Rotala Indica or Najanssen (sp ?), Bacopa or Hemianthus.

Abit more Anubias on the driftwood and the section just in front of the wood and that little section in the front LH corner (between glass and wood) filled with Anubias Nana Pettite.

A single species of Rasbora or Tetra.

Finished. Nice, simple, beautiful.

Sh-yeah sh-yeah, Ben.

I was working with Keith on this last night, and I came up with rotala in the lefthand back corner, a bit of glosso down in front, and letting the hemianthus go up the hill. I've also moved the nana flower to the center of the tank, leaving the lefthand end free for the rotala (or better yet, stargrass--but I just can't find it). The nana petite sounds great--I'll get to it as soon as I find some.

I was going to suggest Vals, although I've somehow fallen in love with those lately. Don't worry, next month it will be a new favorite plant!

How about a red plant or two, like a red lotus, to add some accents to the tank. I like what you are doing with it so far.

Maybe a nice piece of driftwood on the top of the tank to hide the heater.
