well, everytime i try to hide my heater, it developes a thick crusty coating, it is brown, and resembles coral, (mind u its a fresh water tank) how can i stop this?i cant put anything in front of it without this happening, is there a better way to hide it? i also used rock to cover up my filter for a while, but....kinda backfired when i needed to clean the intake so i had to take it down, so now my tank looks so bed wih half being heavly planted, and the other half like blank

this is what it looked like a few weeks ago
tank

but it cant be like that now because of the heater
i dont have any pics of it how it looks now, and i wish i got a pic of it before i chipped it off but the glass also appears to be milky white now, in the places where the black has flaked off (happned within the week i got it]:|)

Consider placing your heater parallel to the substrate about 2 inches above the substrate. Use driftwood, plants and the well placed rock to disguise the unit....
