I would boil it for 20-30 minutes & them leave it to "sink" in coldwater, till it get waterlogged. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Boiling I have never done it in 35+years in fact I had never heard of it until I came to FP. This piece of DW was soaked for at least four weeks see in photos. I recommend doing as gary suggested and soaking it for several days/weeks until it sinks. Warm water is alright but I would recommend not exceeding 35*C thereby eliminating the risk of denaturing The only reason I would support boiling wood is if it's for a loriicad tank, were soft wood becomes a nice addition to their diet. You must realize that this hobby requires time and patience, hastyness is usually rewarded by instability. |

I was like I don't think so. I don't need to deal with that! 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |
