![]() | 10 gal for kuhlies |

I had them before and I love those little fish.I had 6 in a 29 with lots of other fish, but they died within 2 weeks of getting them.I now have a empty 10 gal and wanted to set up a tank just for them.Would a sand bottom work with a few fake plants, some water sprite, some hiding places, and maybe a bubble wall work? I was thinking 3 kuhlies would be ok.Of course I already have a heater and filter. |

They're pretty active swimmers at night. Sand bottom, caves, live plants are all good additons. I have three black kuhlis, and I've noticed they love to play in the powerhead outflow, which is extremely strong. I watched one swim straight into the powerhead flow for almost an hour. It was amazing to watch, because it kept being blown out of the way, all around the tank, but would keep coming back and swim as hard as it could straight into it again. So, I think they appreciate good water circulation, and for that a powerhead might be better than a bubble wall. When I had a bubble wall in the tank, the kuhlis never went near it. |
