That's an Ancistrus spawning? Congratulations! Looks like daddy is making sure to stay near the eggs. How large are the parents, and how long did it take them to spawn?

Yes it is an Albino Bristle Nose Spawning. It didn't really take them all that long, I do weekly water changes if not bi-weekly. This is the third time that I know of he has spawned since September so that is about every 6 weeks or so. The parents IMO are young adults and the male is still only around 4" long so he has a little more growing to do.

I would like to get a picture of actual daddy because he even at a younger age has a brilliant set of bristles. It is hard to get good pictures out of this tank because it is a pond so I have to take the pictures from "above" the water if you know what I mean. I was very pleased when the above picture turned out so well. I was concerned that he was stuck in that crevice of the wood before I noticed the eggs! *very proud* Now to get the Queen's and Leopard Frog's to spawn... Also working on red spot bristle nose and calico bristle nose (still growing out) and soon to come LDA08 Claro's I hope.

"Well done you must be very observent in what happens in your tank. Also excellent photo."

Thank you Mr. Keith!

Damn LDA08s, apparently numbers haven't been very favorable ITW lately, thus, I'm waiting on several myself.

That is a NICE photo ... taken from overhead? Good work! And happy dance celebrations on your Ancistrus spawning, even if daddy isn't terribly keen to show himself to the camera for you (I take it the light coloured part is 'daddy'?).

Keep us updated on the progress of the young. Oh, and now would be a good time to start preparing what I call "Otocinclus Pet Rocks™ to keep daddy and the babies fortified ... see this thread for an explanation!

Yes it was taken from overhead kinda at an angle. And yes that is the recluse daddy. I have read that thread before, and I thank you for reminding me. We get plenty of sun here! Prior fry are doing quite well at this point and I am quite pleased though I can definitely see how this could get out of hand!
