I used to own Yo-Yo loaches, but I gave them to the LFS for store credit since they ate my African Fan Shrimp and Asian Fan Shrimp (both the ones listed on this site), and those shrimp aren't cheap and the African one is very hard to find too. So I got the same shrimp again. At the LFS though, I haven't seen any African Fan Shrimp there in a long time. Just yesterday, I got a 20 gallon tank and I already have a 10 gallon tank. I also have snails in my 10 gallon tank. I want to bring over my shrimp and water plans from my 10 into my 20 eventually. However I got snails in my 10. I suppose I can manually remove them myself, but I think having loaches do that would be better. My Yo-Yos were efficient in eating the snails in my 10. Ever since the Yo-Yos have been gone though, the snail population has gone up.

So any ways, is there any loaches out there would eat these little snails and leave my shrimp alone?

I really doubt it. Maybe, and I stress maybe, Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki.

Unfortunately, with the 10 gallon, you're pretty limited as to what kind of fish you can get. Most snail eaters get too big, and usually won't make a distinction between which kind of invertebrate they're munching on.

I'd say manually remove them (I like putting a cucumber slice in the tank overnight and then taking out all the snails that are on it in the morning) and cut down on feeding. If they don't have food, they won't reproduce.

If Clown Loaches are friendly get a small CL I had to put one in my Betta tank I left him there for several months then I transfered him to the 5ft tank as soon as he was big enough. His size was like a massive growth burst while in the Betta tank. It did not efect himin any way he just continued to grow, I think it was all the good food he received while he was young. By the way he did a perfect job.

lol before I saw your post keithgh, I went to the LFS and they suggested getting clown loahes. So I got 2 small clown loaches that will go in my 20 gallon H tank. They are temporarily in my 10 gallon at the moment till I deem the water in the 20 good for them. I added biosphere to the tank, I decided I didn't want to wait and just pay the $15 for the 1 ounce of it which is good up to 30 gallons. The LFS said to just return the clown loaches to the LFS for store credit once they get too big and they also said they go up in value when they get bigger. They are very neat looking loaches and very colorful too. I never would have though about getting them for a 10 gallon tank, but I think a 20 is just fine for them.

Depending on their feeding program they will grow about 1cm per year. Personally I think they can grow faster in their first few years. You will supprised how quickly they will clean those snails up BUT leave at least one in the tank for several months just to make sure all the snails and their eggs are gone.
