Do you allready have the Clowns in another tank? Beacuse when they grow bigger they're gonna need a way bigger tank...

How about 3 zebra loaches? or 3 yoyo loaches?

Clown Loaches aren't the best snail eaters are far as loaches go. A school of Botia sidthimunki, whose maximum size is about 2", will clear your tank of snails ten times faster than a Clown Loach.

Botia sidthimunki tends to be pretty rare and expensive though (individuals rarely sell for under $20), but Queen Loaches are also good at eating snails I've heard.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

A pair of small CLs would not hurt at all. They are very slow growers and would do the job very well. Help them along squash the snails you see on the glass and the other fish will clean them up leaving no mess to float around.

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://

Skunk loaches would be really bad in that aquarium. There is not enough room in there for them and the cories. Your cories would get shredded up prety bad. The sids recommended by Cory Di would do an excellent job, but cheaper if you can find them would be zipper loaches which stay around the same size or even smaller. Very cool peaceful little loaches too. Unless you really might get a larger tank at a later date I would recommend against the clown loaches, but just because in a nice large tank their growth rates really are different. I have kept them in a 55 gallon tank and a 125 from small fish. Another option is adopting the loaches from the lfs if they will let you to take care of the snail problem with the full intention of trading them back in within a month.

I would suggest that you go with Botia Striata or Zebra loaches. They max size is 3 inches, are less expensive than the Sids, and definitely have a better temperament than skunks or yoyos. Skunks/Yoyos can be very nippy and aggressive towards other bottom feeders.

Thanx for all the replies, Loaches are preety limited where i am at, this is more a temp thing to get the snails out i have a 6 foot im planning on setting up but not for at leat 8 months er so, the only loaches i have seen around here are sick looking yoyos and very bright Clowns, i can get them for half price 3.50 a piece, but i could very well return them after the snails are taken care of, so if need be the store will be more than happy to do so.

I have never seen a Snail in my 5 foot tank, since i put 1 CL. I got 1 CL for free & was going to give it away, but i kept it & cleaned my tank from Snail Pests.

2 CL's wouldn't do any harm in your tank, but will clean it from any Snails in a few days.
