Is it possible that a 1.5 inch Clown Loach eat alot of Snails in 3/4 days?.

I added a CL to my main tank & there where quite a few snails on the plant leaves & on the glass, but after adding the CL, they seem to vanish & i only saw 2/3 today. I know that they are good snail eaters, but i didn't know that they where this good.

I have 2 Yoyo Loaches in another tank & they eat snails, but not as good as this CL. He's doing a great job.

What's a lot of snails and how big are the snails? Everything is relative, but I am glad that you are seeing fewer snails.

it's possible he could have done that much damage to them. But, as pugperson said it really depends on somethings:
1. how big were the snails?
2. how many are a lot?
3. how hungry was the clownloach?
4. how much does he like snails?
if it was him (and i hope it was) good going really only time will tell heidi

I will agree with Heidi. They will clean up big number depending how hungry and how big they are. My small 2ins CL cleaned up several small snails in two days, as that is all there was in the tank.

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://

I don't know if the CL was hungry or not, but in 3/4 days he ate a good ammount of Snails, as usually i see them on my plants & on the glass, but now, it's quite difficult to see any snails, even if there are some. For sure i could see 30/40 snails easily, but now only 1 or 2. I am very impressed with the CL & for sure there isn't any comparison with Yoyo's, in snail eating.

I would have to agree. My snail breeding project unfortunately flopped. I was hoping to breed snails to feed my 20 clowns, unfortunately, the snails died off

But good going, looks like the Clown is thoroughly enjoying himself

I am really impressed with my Clown Loach. I knew that they eat snails, but to get rid of them in a few days................ just like magic.
