Ok, this may be a crazy question, but what do you feed your clown loaches? I've been feeding them shrimp pellets, and they won't eat them. Not sure why. I was toldwhen I bought them that they liked that sort of stuff....

Any suggestions??

Clown Loaches like Snails alot, but i also think they accept most Flake food & vegetable based sinking pellets.

My clown loaches love eating tetra bits. I tried feeding them dried shrimp, but they wont eat it. They dont like freeze dried blood worms/tubifex worms either.

They are however, very fond of live snails and worms of all sorts as long as they are live and wriggly.

I would suggest going with tetra bits, its very good for their health too.

P. S. I got 19 of these fat boys

Try experimenting with different fruits and vegetables. You'll be very surprised at what your clown loaches will eat. Mine eat everything from cucumber, zucchini, lettuce, green bell pepper, boiled okra, yellow squash, apples and pears.

I originally got clown loaches to take care of my snail problembut, I knew I would have to supplement their diet eventually. So when I go to feed my corydoras, I just throw in a bit more and watch the action:%)

They eat:
shrimp pellets,
Hikari Algae Wafers
Defrosted, frozen Blood worms
any and all veggies i've thrown in
as well as the snails and fallen "other fish foods"

So far they are doing great, and dig right in with the rest of my piglets:%)I even saw one tonight dig into the gravel going after some tasty tidbit

Best of luck, and don't worrymore than likely they won't allow themselves to starve

My clows are big eaters (they are also big fish) they just love food. Here is my feeding program this might help you.

Keith

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://
www.fishprofiles.com/interactive/forums/profile.asp?userid=6741" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] for my tank info

My feeding program.
This is always done just after the tank light go on early in the morning
Other than the usual flakes, pellets and algae wafers, & frozen bloodworms three times a week there are many other also foods I use.
I mix and rotate the different types of sinking food each day when I do not feed them with the frozen Blood Worms.
The mixture is always Flakes, sinking pellets, and algae wafers broken up. With the Worms they also get the algae wafers broken up.

The different foods I use are many and varied, never at any specific time or day. All this started not long after viewing FP. I am always willing to try something different. I believe that is the reason why my fish are so healthy as they get a good variety of foods.
Heavy fishing line suspends the pear core & the fish frame. The tomato & the zucchini are held to a flat rock by an elastic band. Two small river pebbles hold down the lettuce leaf.

When feeding with the fish frame, pear core, and the lettuce I do not leave it too long, one hour at the most. I would only feed the fish frame the day before I do my 50 Lt weekly water change.
Once I found a tomato seed that had started to sprout in the internal filter I was using at the time.

Fish all fresh & uncooked
SW fish frame.
Various SW fish mashed
Prawns/Shrimp
Roe FW & SW

Meat
Raw lambs liver mashed very fine about 1/2 tea spoon.

Vegetables Cooked all mashed
Beans.
Carrot.
Celery.
Corn.
Diced
Peas.
Spinach

Vegetables Raw
Lettuce.
Tomato.
Zucchini.

Fruit.
Pear core
Banana. Small pieces.
