hey all,
After a little imformation regarding clown loaches, i have 2 in a 25 gal tank.
My problem is i have noticed that one has just started hiding in the centre of one of my plants.
It comes out at feeding times then resumes it spot back in the plant,is this common for them or is there another problem i should be checking for?
Clown loaches are approx 2 1/2 inchs.

it is quite normal...but a 25 gallon tank is way too small for a clown loach to live in there for a long time. you also need at least 4 of them to be really happy.

One word that should never be used for CLs is normal. They wrote the book about that one.

My lonely little fella is a happy chappie in my Betta tank besides he would be too small to put into the 5ft tank yet.

It's very natural that the CL will hide for a long time. Just make sure that he isn't stuck in an ornament, but it's normal that they have an abnormal behaviour.

Clowns eventhough friendly can be territorial. I have more than one clown loach in my tank who will gaurd his/her territory and sit in one place all day except for feeding times. They do this until the other clowns (and tankmates??) understand that this is their area and nobody sits or rests there.

Clowny.

My 2 click when they get something they especially like to eat. They are brutal on ghost shrimp . They often will lay there and play dead but are not shy in the least with the large Severums in my tank. Cool fish...
