This is going to sound like a silly question, but there are a lot of much-holes appearing in my babana lillies, and all of the other occupants have the wrong shaped mouths to manage. I'm wondering if this is normal for clowns.

Yep, thats normal for clowns. They even manage to do this with my Anubias. Never heard of a Babana lily, did you mean the banana plant(Nymphiodes spp.)

Oh yeah, its the Clown Loach, mine have managed to destroy every new growth appearing on my poor anubias.

Dont know why they have all of a sudden started munching on my plants. Very frustrating isn't it!

typo its a banana lily/plant.

right then, i'll have to go staple their little mouths shut (j/k) cheeky devils, always looking so cute and adorable and then turning into plant-devouring monsters behind my back!

I have never seen them at my Anubias but I would not be supprised as what they can do to greenry. Place a lettuce leaf in the tank ang just watch them tear it appart. Their jaws seem very large and powerful.
Here is an older photo of one of my larger CL attacking lettuce.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

Mine dont like lettuce, or any veggies that I put in the tank. They prefer the more expensive aquarium plants. Kinda like urs. If your plants look like they have been munched at with gusto and have holes in the leaves that you can see through from a 30 feet distance - it's your clowns doing it
