I thought they didn't eat plants?
I just noticed that my loaches are eating my plants, they don't do it often but my plants are getting like swiss cheese.
They get enough food so why do they destroy my plants?

oh no, my loaches eat plants... So sorry youre having to learn that lesson the hard way. Not even really eat, they like shredding them I've ever had a clwon that didnt do at least a little bit of damage. Might be time to look at plastic plants, mine have done great with the loaches.

I have yoyo's and clowns in the same tank so i cant say which is putting holes in my plants. The only plants they do this to in my tank are surprisingly anubias. They leave my hornwart, anacharis and java ferns alone thoguh.

Actually back when the site articles were still loaded my article on the care and selection of clowns does mention they are not paticularly plant compatible

Sorry, wish you had known before you mixed the two

the only plants that may make it are lava ferns and mosses, those tough tear me into a million pieces and I will still grow kind of plants

Go with java fern, it has a nice solid wood base , can be replanted hundreds of times with little effect or damage to the plant, and almost nothing eats it .

Clown Loaches will dig up plants very easly they are usually looking for sinking food. My big fella will shift rocks to find food. Put a lettuce leaf in the tank and watch them rip it to pieces. Mine can eat a full lettuce leaf under one hour.

I have never seen them eating the Jave Fern or the Anubias it could be too tough or not to their liking.

Here is an old photo of what thay can do to a lettuce leaf.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info
