I usually use lettuce and shove a paperclip through it. Then hook on how many paperclips it takes to make it sink. The first one is tied to the other end of my algae magnet. Just pull it out, shove on a new veggie, adjust the weight if needed and drop it back in.

If you want weird looks at the store try feeding guinea pigs. They require daily vit c which means a cup of veggies a day and I have 7. I buy 4 bell peppers, 7 cilantro, a head of lettuce, 2 watercress(trying to get it to grow in an aquarium), and sometimes squash or cucumber every week. I've been asked a few times if I was a vegetarian and I've never eaten any of the veggies myself.

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://
www.fishprofiles.com/interactive/forums/profile.asp?userid=6741" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] for my tank info

My feeding program.
This is always done just after the tank light go on early in the morning
Other than the usual flakes, pellets and algae wafers, & frozen bloodworms three times a week there are many other also foods I use.
I mix and rotate the different types of sinking food each day when I do not feed them with the frozen Blood Worms.
The mixture is always Flakes, sinking pellets, and algae wafers broken up. With the Worms they also get the algae wafers broken up.

The different foods I use are many and varied, never at any specific time or day. All this started not long after viewing FP. I am always willing to try something different. I believe that is the reason why my fish are so healthy as they get a good variety of foods.
Heavy fishing line suspends the pear core & the fish frame. The tomato & the zucchini are held to a flat rock by an elastic band. Two small river pebbles hold down the lettuce leaf.

When feeding with the fish frame, pear core, and the lettuce I do not leave it too long, one hour at the most. I would only feed the fish frame the day before I do my 50 Lt weekly water change.
Once I found a tomato seed that had started to sprout in the internal filter I was using at the time.

Fish all fresh & uncooked
SW fish frame.
Various SW fish mashed
Prawns/Shrimp
Roe FW & SW

Meat
Raw lambs liver mashed very fine about 1/2 tea spoon.

Vegetables Cooked all mashed
Beans.
Carrot.
Celery.
Corn.
Diced
Peas.
Spinach

Vegetables Raw
Lettuce.
Tomato.
Zucchini.

Fruit.
Pear core
Banana. Small pieces.

I feed peas, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, bell pepper, cucumber, zuchinni, squash, apples, oranges, small pieces of cooked pasta, lettuce I'm sure there has been other stuff...the oranges only go in right before a water change, and don't stay in long (20-30 minutes) before removing them.

To hold them down Sometimes I just let them float, other times there is the veggie clip, hair band to rock, hair band to film canister with gravel, and one of the newest weys a fork shoved through said veggie, and dropped/placed into the tank...

Just wondering what, if any, fruits & veggies you feed your fish (put it in bottom feeders since plecos tend to be the fish most supplemented with veggies - though our africans LOVE them too)? I have a fairly new pair of bristlenose pleco's and so far the male has turned his nose up at every offering I have provided.....our other fish go crazy over zuchinni, cucumber, sweet potato, kiwi, apple and squash but not Oscar...his wife LOVES anything edible though.
I was shopping the other day and ended up with distilled water and a variety of fresh veggies in the cart - the clerk asked if I was some sort of health freak and her expression got really confused when I said "no, but my fish are" (sad to say they eat/drink better than the humans in the house, lol).

They sell a "Veggie Clip" product that is a clip attached to a suction cup -- clip the veggie in and position it where you want it using the suction cup.
I had one for a while and can't seem to find it - at the moment I use a rock for the african tank (rubber band the piece of veggie to it) and a piece of driftwood in my SA tank (I place one end of the veggie piece under the driftwood). Nothing fancy

I feed only zucchini, though cucumber used to be on the menu. The only fish of mine that like the greens are my bristlenose pleco and my blue phantom. They prefer zucchini over the other fare, but every fish has its own tastes. Just find out what your BN likes and stick with it.
