Ok,This may seem like a really dumb question but oh well here goes.I've started to feed my clown loaches different types of vegetables trying them one at a time and I was wondering How long should I leave each one in the tank before removing it and if I leave them in to long could it possibly have any negative effects on the water quality?

Don't worry, it's actually a good question. Veggies are fine in a tank until pieces of them start to detach from the main part of the fruit, and float around in the water. Once that happens, or preferably before, you should remove whatever vegetable it is. That way, vegetable bits don't get sucked into your filter. They won't have a large detrimental effect on your water quality, as far as I know, but bits of veggies are unsightly, and can muck up the filter.

At least, this is just my opinion. I'm sure I missed something in there somewhere.

I have been feeding many different types of food to my loaches and other fish in my 5ft.

I never leave any extra food longer than one hour, I tie the tomato to a small rock so that the loaches will not carry it off. With the pear and fish frame it is suspended by a fishing line. The small piece lettuce leaf which is also held down by a rock, but they usually eat all that up any way. With most of the other foods I mash a small amount up.
Having a large tank and good filtration is also one thing in my favour.

I would be extremly carefull if you do not have a good filtration as this could cause some problems.

Here are my pear eating photos as you can see they love it. They prefer the riper softer pear rather than the hard type.

These were taken before I started to suspend it in mid water with fishing line.

In addition to the comments above, some people like to blanch or cook veggies before adding them to the tank, but this makes them break down faster. I prefer to put them in raw, and as fresh as possible
