I just got my first clown yesterday and when I introduced it to my community tank one of my female swordtails was picking on him and biting him. So this morning I went to feed the fish and I cant find the clown anywhere! I know that they like to hide and burrow, but what do they normally burrow in and was it possible for my fish to eat him in like 8 hours with no trace of any bones or anything? Alo, what kind of plants are good to have, nice to look at and easy to care for? Thanks for the help in advance!

They can hide in every small space that they'll find. Maybe in an ornament or something else you might have in your tank.
CL's like to stay in groups & 1 would be very shy & will hide most of the time.

would there be a bump in the gravel if it was hiding in there? I plan on getting a second CL but I wanted to see how the first one would do cuz I've never had one before. Thank you for your input though!

the tank size is import, clowns need a large tank, and a group so the math is

clown loach school + tank = big tank.

on a side note, i wouldn't think that he go into gravel, unless it is sand, he maybe in a decoration.

I bet CL lovers are thinking that a 20G is too small for any of them. They are such fast swimmers they really need 3 feet I would think. Last time I saw some it seemed like they moved faster than my eye could see. And that is when they are little. Sure they grow slowly, but they get what 5-6 inches? That is like 4' tank if you ask me. :-)

Actually Clown Loaches grow to be about 10-12 inches.
The smallest tank size acceptable for clown loaches is 75 gallons.
You should return your clown loach and get a smaller loach such as YoYos, or Polka Dot or Kuhlis.

Yes Clowns can get very big mine and extremly well looked after were 8&1/2 ins after 18 years I had them.
They certainly are a fish that loves the company of other Clowns.
You did not say how big the Clown was, also they must have hiding space/cave for themselves but they will share a cave with others.
Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://

thanks alot for the help guys I'm finding that with my growing knowledge of fish I'm wanting to get a bigger tank. If you know anybody that is selling a tank 55G-75G let me know I live on the East coast of Fl so I would be able to pick it up.
