I got 6 x L397 today. The first thing they did when they got in the tank was to go hide. I hope they are going to come back out sometime so I can see them.

I got them from lealea in Brisbane, Queensland.
Plec's (especially L397) aren't so plentiful in Australia so to find someone breeding within driving distance from me is fantastic as I hate having fish airfreighted.

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Mine were 3 to a bag and double bagged with plenty of water and air. They could have been airfreighted if needed and they would have been quite ok. Getting toward colder weather now tho, so maybe you should enquire if those heatpacks (the microwave ones) are added for airtravel or at least a thermal esky type box?
They were by no means little skimpy fry fish I got, they were at least 4cm long each and had plenty of good healthy color.
When you see where they have to hide in my tank its no wonder they are having so much fun playing hidey-go-seek.

Welcome to the wonderful world of L-numbers. Very nice, hope they do come out so you can get a nice pic of them when they're less stressed.

Going by Melbourne weather this past week I would expect a heatpack of some sort.
Its a big outlay of money (for us anyway), we have to wait until hubby's monthly payday. (hate monthly pays )
Your fish are lovely brengun. Hope they come out for you to see them soon.

Nice fish brengun!

The true test of character is not how much we know how to do, but how we behave when we dont know what to do.

They are starting to come out of hiding and one is quite bold and sits out front on the glass sometimes.
They still look good strong little guys.

Oh yeah-I'm not sure if I'm just missing it, but there should be a great deal of soft wood in the tank. This makes up the bulk of their diet.

The anubia in the center back of the photo is sitting on a big chunk of driftwood.

I got some nice photos now. They are getting used to my camera flash. Maybe it simulates lightning and the wet season to them? I have also noticed (photography wise) that the white on the cucumber reflects light and lights up the plec better.
