That's pretty typical with plecs, they're poop machines

If you'd like a bit of a laugh about the subject, take a look at [link=this thread]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/The%20Recovery%20Room/49511.html" style="COLOR: #FFFFC0[/link].

ehart pleco's

I don't have any but I have seen in a display tank what one large fella can do. Usually the bigger the fish or animal the bigger the POOP.

Mine seem to like to decorate with it, they hang it all over the place like tinsel...

Yep - nasty buggers!! That's why I only feed mine 2-3x per week. Otherwise, I would need a nuclear powered filter.

Heh, my 2 year old son, who is in the habit of removing his poopy diaper and exclaiming "Ca-Ca!, Ca-Ca!" Was sitting with me watching our fish when he suddenly points to the pleco sucking on the glass right in front of us and states the obvious "Ca-Ca!" I of course snorted a chuckle...

yep that pleco always has a nice 5-6" turd trailing behind him as he cruises the bottom of the tank...

my cousins have a big pleco stuck in a 10g tank - the longest survivor of all their other fish - that i am going to keep in my 29g. They feel bad keeping him in a 10g, so i was very pleased to offer keeping him for them.

This may or may not be a super lucky find for me! it seems that in his 10g, he has somewhat of a pleco litter box. he nudges all his waste into a specific area! when they tried to redecorate the tank though, he stopped his "cleaning" but still kept his mess to one side of the tank. If i can find that perfect set up again though, the greatest ease of cleaning shall be mine!!!!

The pottery that growls!
