I was neglecting my tanks for awhile, but i cleaned them out yesterday. First time in a month, and i had not cleaned them out for a month before that. So my 10 gallon was quite dirty, same goes for my 53 gallon. The 10 gallon was literally covered in brown algae. You know, that slimey brown stuff.

I have these three small pieces of driftwood, each with an Anubias plant growing on them. They were literally covered in brown algae. I placed them in the 53 gallon tank where i have a mature female Bristlenose, which i have owned going on 5 years now. Within 24 hours, all of those Anubias plants and driftwood are clean.

I love that Bristlenose.

Aren't they great? My bristlenose keeps his 29 gallon tank algae free. Before I bought him, the sides were getting a film of brown algae. Now, it is as clean as a whistle. Best of all, I don't even have to pay him.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

I am thinking of buying a baby one for my 10 gallon, then putting it into the larger tank when it gets bigger.

I have no idea how many BNs I have I thought they stopped breeding but lately I am seeing more each day usually about 20-30mm

They certainly help to keep my tank clean.

I think I will have to intoduce a few large FM just to change the blood line as I think mine are all related.

Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
