i have no idea what it was and i didn't even ask stupid really hehe, but it was massive..never seen a fish like it b4... on the subject...i also went to an aquarium on victoria st of hoddle...and they had angels in there the size of tennis racket heads!.....the whole day was full of "woahs" haha

Well they did have a redtail there last time I popped in, but not as big as what is described here. Maybe a channel cat or something?

if it is big, i would have to agree it may be a red tail cat, but i would think they get bigger than that. they are considerd a game fish in the amozon.

Over a metre you say? And not obviously a Redtail?

Could be one of several possibilities. However, if it's a Piraiba catfish, it still has a LOT of growing to do, as they reach nine feet ...
