greatwhite Small Fry Posts: 2 Kudos: 3 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jun-2006 | I recently purchased two new otocinclus catfish from the LFS. I have a lot of algae in my tank, a 10 gallon, and was wondering if they would eat all of it. Also, I seem to have no luck feeding the sinkking wafers that I bought with them. Anyone know another type of food, or a way to get them to eat the wafers? Thanks. The best method of cure is prevention |

I have 1 in my 10g, with alot of algae, and I've never seen it eat the wafer when I put one in the tank. My 29g on the other hand, doesn't have as much algae, and with 3 ottos, I'm sure they run out sometimes (well not technically run out). They will eat algae wafers and even shrimp pellets. My 55g is like my 10g...they won't eat them. You may want to try some veggies, maybe zucchini and cucumber. Mine have never ate them, but you could try it with yours. I find that all ottos are different. But, as long as there is enough algae in the tank, I wouldn't worry about them starving. |

I have tried Algae chips and they never get touched. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
