5inches is the biggest ive had
They like to eat rummies and are extremely hard to catch!!!! The minimun size tank that you can use would be 3foot IMO as they are less active in the home aquarium then in the dealers tanks (unless your trying to catch them . They should be kept in a shoal of about 3 unless space allows for a bigger school.

Mine are about 4+ins I dont see them very much they seem to spend most of their time hiding in caves or areas where other fish dont go.
I do not night feed I think they must pick up the food below the plants at the rear of the tank behind the large rocks during feeding time.

They will also eat most fish that fits into their mouths.

Good info! Well we have 3 of them in a 72 bowfront, so they have more than enough room. So far, no one has been missing so they havent eaten anyone...but come to think of it all that is maybe within eating range would be the cories, and we just put some endlers in this tank.. but none of them are missing. So i was just more curious as to everyone else's experiences with them.

The endlers will slowly disappear one by one.

My two pictus cats are very active but don't shoal together at all even though the second was bought to be a companion for the first. Instead they shoal with the loaches. I usually put excess livebearers in the tank and they slowly disappear. Just the nature of these fish. Past 4 inches they have started growing very slowly.
