Finally is there a good online shop to buy Common BNs in Aust at reasonable prices? Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. However, with the common species that I bought it is at most about 3", as I was able to tell the gender rather easily (by this time male has huge bristles). Perhaps they could be sexed at a smaller size, but I couldn't tell you what the lower limit is. I do not know how old they would be. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

Wingsdlc Fish Guru What is this? Posts: 2332 Kudos: 799 Registered: 18-Jan-2005 | I would guess that you can tell male or female by about 2.5 to 3 inches. I think much of it depends on growing conditions (food, space, others in the tank, etc.) 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |
