The true test of character is not how much we know how to do, but how we behave when we dont know what to do. |

Cup_of_Lifenoodles Fish Guru Posts: 2755 Kudos: 1957 Votes: 30 Registered: 09-Sep-2004 | As previously stated, I'm a big fan of balitorids. Amongst them, small mouthed species such as sewellia and beautfortia take preference (my lineolata fry are currently suffering through a heat salt treatment due to some barbs that I thoughtlessly added without quarantine, but I still enjoy them). Pseudogastros are pretty tight as well. After those come the elongate species of rivs; homaloptera, vailentella (of course), shistura, etc. Pangio and kin are also up there. Strangely enough botiids are probably my least favorite loach species. Go figure. |

Brengun Big Fish Posts: 355 Kudos: 187 Votes: 110 Registered: 22-Jun-2007 | I love my Kuhli loaches. I have two black and two stripeys. I love their cute little faces and they spend most of their time loop de looping at the front of my tank. More recently I got 4 clown loaches but they haven't finished their hiding rubbish yet. When I first put them in the tank, one decided he was a siamese fighter and swam everywhere with my real fighter. The fighter was not impressed and changed his colors and flared up. The clown got the message and went back to his own kind. Another clown has decided my whiptail must share his log. Whippy is not amused. The clowns have a whole 2ft long hollow battleship to play in but they like sleep overs with everyone else. |

BM Fish Master Posts: 1436 Kudos: 239 Votes: 127 Registered: 24-Aug-2000 | 1-Clown Loaches 2-Yoyo Loaches 3-Khuli Loaches They are the only ones I've ever kept. All are great and interesting to watch. Only caveat with the Clowns is to make sure you have a large enough tank. http://www.fishprofiles.com/site/aquarank.aspx |

Brengun Big Fish Posts: 355 Kudos: 187 Votes: 110 Registered: 22-Jun-2007 | I have a deal with my lfs. I only got my little clown loaches on the agreement that I can exchange for more little ones when the originals get to big for their tank. OMG I haven't had them for long and today there was this odd sonic clicking noise coming from the tank. They talk like dolphins? Coolamundo. |
