![]() | corys not very active? |
devon7![]() Big Fish Posts: 475 Kudos: 356 Votes: 4 Registered: 31-Aug-2004 ![]() ![]() | I have 6 spotted trilineatus corys and i hardly ever see them! They actually seem MORE active after i turn off the lights, are they just shy? or what? when i DO see them they are so fast and full of personality but i hardly ever see them, they seem to sleep all day in the plants... is this typical? anything i can do to encourage them to come out? p.s. i am also bad about remebering to turn the tank lights on and off, sometimes i forget for a couple days!! could this have to do with it? are they just confused between day and night? hmm... are timers for the lights expensive and/or hard to set up? |

Timers are very cheap: just a few dollars for a basic one. I have mine on a timer, because I know I would be bad at maintaining any kind of consistent schedule. Just check at a hardware store in the lighting section. |

So your Cories are just being normal. If you feed them during the day, they might start to coming out more when the lights are on. |

Maybe my corys come out when I am at school haha, they're always sleeping! or resting, or whatever it is that fish do hehe. |

My origional timer is close to 25+Yld I certainly would not trust some of the cheapies to last that long. I have another timer not for Aqu med priced even that is not very reliable. As far as setting up easy. Plug the timer (after setting it up) into the power point then plug your light into the timer. My lights are on for 11 hrs a day and always feed first thing in the morning. I do think that this must have a little tiny bit to do with them hiding, because its not like they're just not very active, they really do sleep all day! they're are always resting on the ground under the plants not moving, I just catch them FLYING around the tank on a rare occasion, its so cute. seem they love the current when i do see them... I have one harlequin rasbora that adores swimming against the current as well, that one is much bigger and stronger looking than the others, he gets his excercise ![]() so i am lead to believe a littttle bit that they might be confused about night and day :%) |
