I seen this idea on another site, and I personally had mixed feelings about it.Could I put 2 kuhlii loaches in a 5 gal? I had 5 in my 29,but I had gravel not sand and they all died within a week.

Mmm, I doubt it. They do reach around four inches in length, and should be kept in groups of three or more. Two kuhlis in a five gallon would get lonely, and not have much room. Three loaches would just not have much room. Seriously though, I think you would want to go with a larger tank for kuhlis.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

I would go with a 10g... With 3 kuhliis and a school of small tetra... personally any tank 5 gallons and other is really only suitable for a betta. Not even killies and dwarf puffers can get a fair shake in a 5g.

The 10 gal sounds good. I have two tiny kuhlis, and I just recently bought this 4 inch fat fellow. I tell you, he loves to cruise in my 79 gal tank, loves every inch of the gravel ( I dont have sand, but I do have fine gravel that my clowns and other loaches can dig into). I cant imagine putting these fish into a tank less than 30 gal in size, it would be criminal, even though, technically, they could survive in a 10 gal.
