i have been told clown loaches are very inactive during the day. i think i see my loaches more then i see any of my other fish. i have 3 they have done a number to my snail problem.

but its weird only 2 out of the 3 come out really at any time while one hides. its mostly the same 2 but sometimes they switch it up.

they like going up and down the tank two for being bottom feeders they go to the top lots.

i know nothing about loaches so is this a good thing. is the reason they come out so much is due to craziness. and will they ever become aggressive to the other fish (just from prior fish being very active can become aggressive)

thanks

Coincidentally I also have one shy and two outgoing clown loaches. My shy one is about 3.5" and the two outgoing ones are about 3" I've had my clowns for roughly six months and the most aggression I've seen are playful games of "tag, you're It!" Their crazy antics are natural, no worries.

haha...i have 11 of them...one is at 4 inches and the rest is at 1.5 inches...they are inactive at night...but very active during the day...its quite weird...at night...all of them will hide in a cave which i made for them and the whole aquarium will look empty...however, they tend to wake up together when its around 8 or 7 in the morning..they are just wonderful..i havent see them attacking or nipping any other fishes but ive seen them fighting off and angelfish to get some food! for your situation...do u always leave ur lights on?one of my CLs dislike bright lighting...i think that might be the same for yours..

After having the same four for close to 18 years nothing would suprise me about there behaviour. They are like humans like company but also like to be private and do it their way.

Here is a link that might help you.

Clown Loaches have a different personality. Some are timid & some are very friendly.

Mine r always out even in day time. As long u have cave for them to hide they will be very very happy and fell safe. And less stress when u go near or observing them.
