I find that zucchini and cucumber are more popular with plecos. Blanched lettuce will sometimes work, but that depends on your individual fish's tastes. My BN doesn't like lettuce, but he and my L128 love zucchini.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

Depends on the individual plec. One of my BNs isn't really fond of fresh foods. They other loves cucumber and broccoli...she's also had tomato, banana, carrot, spinach, lettuce, peas, and probably more things I can't remember

I feed mine the Hikari algae wafers every night at lights out, and once a week I'll put in a slice of cucumber. Seems to keep him quite happy. It's gotten to the point where the cucumber doesn't even make it to the bottom of the aquarium before he's all over it.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

I feed my BN some sinking pellets, the same as i feed my Corydoras.

Does the cucumber sink? Dumb question, I know, but I am curious.

Cucumber doesn't usually sink. Most people usually either strap it to a piece of rock with rubber bands, or use a food clip stuck to the side of the aquarium.

Mine loves cucumbers, especially the middle parts of it. I use bbq sticks and stick em in the gravel.

I feed mine Hikari wafers nightly, but every couple of months put in boiled pumkin, which brings out there colour better. When your plecs get bigger, they get lazy and don't do as well with cleaning algae, but if you add some BN's this will take care of this.
