	what kind of pleco is this?

Your fish has a large head area and pectoral fins that are placed unusually forwards in respect to body length. It is a panaque.

The main difference I can see from the pictures is that Funnyfish's pleco has wider stripes which appear to be a lighter color. Again, it is impossible to get a solid identification from that one photo, but the difference in stripes isn't so subtle that it cannot be seen. And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

sirbooks Moderator Sociopath Posts: 3875 Kudos: 5164 Votes: 932 Registered: 26-Jul-2004	It's really difficult to tell with that picture, the fish is just way too far away. based on what I can see of the stripes, I'd guess that you have either a Peckoltia or a Dekeyseria species. There are a number of different Peckoltia available, and Deykeyseria are normally just sold under one name, the "butterfly pleco". In any case, it doesn't look like a clown plec to me. Maybe you will be lucky and find a picture of one that looks exactly like yours. I am sure that someone with more knowledge will be ble to give you better information.
