	Discus hanging near the water surface .
amazing puffer Small Fry Posts: 6 Kudos: 8 Votes: 0 Registered: 07-Apr-2005	Hi i currently have this 4 discus which are hanging continously at the water surface even now as i type.I checked the water parameters and everything is fine. My pH was 7.2, my ammonia is zero, and my nitrates and nitrites are fine. they were still ok this morning when i did a 30% Water change. Could anyone advise ?? Thanks . Tankmates are 40 neons 4 corys and 1 ram. which are all behavingly normally .

trace-russ Big Fish Posts: 479 Kudos: 991 Votes: 10 Registered: 25-Sep-2003	Hi, Some how have you changed the o2 levels of the water?? If so increase the surface agitaion to increase the o2 levels. The other thing you may have done is altered the conditions that were in the tank before the water change, and the discus are stressing a bit. Did you put enough chlorine neut in there?? If not sure add some more just in case. Fill us in abit better so we can give you some better advise on how to treat this. Trace

If so, there might have been a big change in water chemistry from the water you added, which would shock and stress the fish. I've had this happen with some of my first fish, that I hadn't acclimated properly, but they were fine after a couple of hours. Keep us updated on what's happened.
