Well after loosing a pair to a none eating battle I gave up discus keeping. "8 months" But this weeka a guy was selling a pair for $100 so I couldn't resist went and picked them up today. Also bought 5 babies while I was there. Will post pic's later not sure what they are he says he bought them as Red Turks but they are not red at all. "Shrugs" They look good and are healthy so i'm happy.

Welcome back to discus keeping, good luck with these guys and get some pics posted soon so we can help you identify the "red turks"(maybe) for you.

Gauntlet, if your adult fish have a blue body with red striations it is a red turquoise discus. A good site with pictures of different discus types can be found here: http://www.aquariumhobbyist.com/discus/strains/. Naming conventions for discus colors can be as bizarre as the naming conventions for carp. Ooops, I meant koi!

Good luck... You may want to keep the juveniles in one group with the mated pair in a breeding tank, if that is your objective.
