I have 6 smaller discus that I can't get to eat.
I've already moved them to my hospital tank to seperate them from the larger discus but this hasn't helped.

What can I do to try and get them to eat. They are each about an inch. I also put in some dither fish to try and make them feel safer.

Please help I don't want to lose these.

Does anyone visit this forum now??

Can I get an opinion from anyone? Even none discus keepers.

Should I put them in with the bigger fish? I mean if they're not eating with out the big fish either.

Can I please get some opinions on this subject.

Hi there,

When you bought your new discus what were they eating then??

You may find that they have been fed live blackworm and this is why they are being fussy with what you are offering them. Some breeders feed this because it makes the babies grow big quickly. Blackworm to discus is like giving kids chocolate to eat (why eat veggies when sweets are offered).

Solution: Get some blackworm add the food that you want them to eat and ween them off the blackworm by decreasing the amount of live worms they are getting until only the food that you want them to eat is being offered.

If they are not blackworm eaters get a product by seachem called garlic guard and soak your frozen food in it for about 5 mins then give them the food. Garlic will increase the appitite and will make fussy eater feed. Garlic also wards off parasites mainly flukes so its medicinal as well as an appitite stimulant.

They were being fed on Tetra Granules. They won't take them either. I've moved them into the bigger tank as I need the smaller one for something else. Signs are more positive I've seen some picking granules off the gravel.

Try some live food, like live Brine Shrimp.
