I just got 8 dime sized angels from a breeder, and I'm having trouble feeding them. I crush up flake food and freeze dried blood worms for them, but they don't seem particularly interested in this food. I have a microworm culture that I just started, but don't have worms yet to feed them. What should I do?

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

Try and find out what the breeder was giving them and try to get some of the food, slowly changing over to foods that you want them to eat.

If they are new fish to the tank then they need time to adjust to their new home. Dont worry too much yet. Make sure to clean out any food that is not eaten by them or you'll have another set of problems.

Good luck!

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I found when I had baby angels to feed them a granualted food called "Super mighty G" Was high in protien and colour enchancer and such. Did the job though. My angels were huge aftrer eating that. Much to the point of accusing my parents of killing them and buying new ones when I was away for a week.

But listen to Lindy before me, she knows what she is talking abuot.

Check what the breeder was feeding them & try to buy the same product that he was. They try to change the food slowly, so you'll start feeding them the food you want. Try feeding them Frozen Bloodworms & Brine Shrimp, mine go crazy for them.

At dime size, its possible they were still not weaned off babay brine shrimp. It may take them a few days to get hungry enough, but they should come round soon. Are they the only fish in the tank and was the tank cycled?

They are in a cycled quarrantine tank with floating plants and java moss/ferns right now. Most of them have finally settled enough to eat regularly and they are starting to grow fairly well. There are a few I'm worried about, though...
I ended up grinding up a mix of flake food, fd bloodworms, and shrimp pellets almost to powder and sprinkling it on top. Some of it sinks where either the little ones get it or it gets sucked up in the filter, and the larger ones have started approaching the front of the tank at feeding time (3 times a day) and eating normally. I know I'm putting too much food in the tank, and I've had to do water changes and media rinses every other day. They are going to grow up to be beautiful fish, though, and I can't wait to move them to the larger tank.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...
