Dude,

Price varies on size and type (coloration). It also varies substantially from lfs to breeder with the lfs generally being quite a bit higher.

I have paid $60US for 2 inch (not including tails) clean, white discus. The fish had no black spots (peppering). A proven, breeding pair would run up to $300US.

My personal preference is to purchase a group of young fish after seeing their parents. The price for the fish would be less than $10US per fish if I buy in a group of 10 or more. It is likely that I will get 5 very good fish out of the purchase.

it's sounds to me that you need a little more research before you start buying up fish. look at these sites to get an idea of what it takes to raise discus.

http://www.simplydiscus.com

http://www.discusasahobby.com

you should get a nice iedea from these two sites.

find a whole saler!!! but n.e way, i am not an expert but size, and color i think make a difference. i saw at my wholesalers these really big brown discus at only 80$ ea. if the sizes is small and the color is basic then 150 is too much. try looking on aquabid to see price ranges.
