Are RENA's really that much more quiet? I hear people complain that their bio-wheels are too loud. Well my bio-wheel is dead silent compared to my generic air pump. Are the RENA pumps really almost silent or are they simply "not as load" as cheap pumps. If the difference in noise is night and day then I will spend the money and get RENAS. Thanks

I have 2 Rena XP3s and they are extremely quiet. I can't tell they are on unless I get really close to them. I have trouble with my Aquaclear 70 humming...so the Rena's are definitely alot quieter than it.

My rena filter is totally silent.
Its eerie cuz you cant even tell its running
without putting your hand on it.
All HOBS make quite a bit of noise in
comparison.

For the last 30 years I have only had Rena in fact one is still going though it has had a few repairs (new rubbers) etc I have one small Rena for the Betta tank just over 12 ins away from me at the computer and I can not hear it at all.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info
