I always say get a small Clown Loach and when it has cleaned the tank either put it into a bigger tank or return it or even resell it.

Basically most Loaches will do the job "Yoyos" I believe are good and they will not grow too big, but they prefer to be in small schools of 4-6

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

If your tank isn't big enough for clowns, or a school of Yo-Yo's then I can definitely recommend the Dwarf Chain loach if you can find it. They stay small (although again you need to keep them in a school of 5-6) and do a great job of removing the snails. However they can be difficult to find and quite expensive (but worth the effort and money in my opinion).

Ya know... I keep reading these posts about
folks who have large populations of snails, asking how
to get rid of them. Almost always, someone mentions one
of the snail eating fish. Thing is, what do you feed them
after the snails are gone and they are set in their ways?
Or, more to the point, what do you do with the fish when
they have served their purpose... give them back?

Thing is, snails, particularly the MTS don't over populate
as a rule. Their populations are controlled by the amount
of available food (hint).

Just wondering...

Most if not all the common snail eating fish do not refuse to eat dry and frozen foods after having snails to munch on occasionally for a few weeks.
