Cracks? | |
monkeyboy Fish Addict Posts: 521 Kudos: 375 Votes: 223 Registered: 10-Apr-2005 | ok as i was feeding the fishes in my 150g tonight. i noticed what i thought was hair on the outside of the tank. there are about 3 of them. well as i wiped off the front of the tank. i seen that they wasnt coming off. well after the fishes finished eating. i ran my nails across the inside of the tank, and they feel like a very shallow cracks. anybody? please? as a safety measure, i already started moving the occupants in my 55g into my 30g that was ready for fishes. and i planned on having 150g fishes moved out as soon as i can and draining down the 150g below the cracks. all i know is i'm goign to be highly upset if it is bad cracks. i put sooo much time and money in this thing. thanks for any advice. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b48/monkeyboy000/crack.jpg Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |

It looks like a scratch to me. Hopefully that is all it is. Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes. |

If it is a crack replace tank as soon as possible before they lengthen an cause a major problem. If it is a scratch it will depend on how deep it is. I would be very concerned on how they got there especially if they are on the outside. Has any one wearing a diamond ring been running their hands over the tank? When my tank cracked the insurance bill was over Aust$3000. monkeyboy Fish Addict Posts: 521 Kudos: 375 Votes: 223 Registered: 10-Apr-2005 | yea no kidding, i'm hoping this is nothing, totally screwing my plans for my tanks. they look and feel like scratches, and they are only about the depth of a stran of hair. as far as aquascaping. no, everything has been in the same place for a while, only thing i do to this is water changes when needed. tanks been setup for about almost a year now. right now tanks just under 2/3 full just to reduce the pressure until i find out whats going on.
