That is likely the case although it could be something more. Keep very good water quality especially since it's such a small ammount. I'd suggest daily water changes of about 50%. You can buy a small gravel vac either online or at your LFS like this one. Be sure the temp of the new water matches the temp of the tank and dont forget to add dechlor. You have used Fungus Clear Tabs for some reason. Have you done water changes? What are your water parameters? Have they recently changed? __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |

ashes Hobbyist Posts: 75 Kudos: 45 Votes: 0 Registered: 05-Oct-2005 | Hi hes in a 1gal fish bowl so I change the water once a week so I've never thought about testing his water with that frequent of a 100% water change. I add dechlorinator to his bowl every water change. I just got some aquarium salt and added it to his bowl along with the Jungle Labs Fungus Clear and the rest of his fins have unclamed and he looks better. I've decided not to feed him till sunday or monday that way hopfully he will be hungry anuff to eat his normal food. What do I do if he keeps refusing to eat his normal food?? I don't want to starve him to death |

Bob Wesolowski Mega Fish Posts: 1379 Kudos: 1462 Registered: 14-Oct-2004 | Most fish have no problem with a prolonged fast of 10 to 14 days. Higher energy fish such as danios may need to be fed at 7 days but a betta can easily survive 10 days without food. Good water conditions, temps of 80 to 82F and he should be eating well... __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |

Survival instinct will kick in after a few days of no food and he will eat. Put the blood worms in a deep corner of the cupboard and dont bring them out unless its an absolute emergency. Ofcourse if he is sick then he may not have an appetite. To me though it sounds like you have a stubborn fish who just wants to eat candy and no veges.
