I have a 30 US gal. long tank (3 ft.) and right now I've got a few dwarf crayfish and a half dozen sparkling gouramis to go in it. It's moderately planted and uses a Fluval 3 Plus for filtration (moderate to heavy current). I've recently been offered a pair of Pearl Gouramis (I assume male and female), and I want to know if they would make good centerpiece fish for this tank. In your experience, will the large Pearl Gouramis get along fine with the tiny sparkling gouramis. Will I still have room in the tank for a school of cory cats?

Pearl Gourami will go well in any tank, as they are very peaceful.

Yes, you can also add a few Corydoras.

When you decide on the Gourami remember they require a floating plant to protect them from the direct lighting. I use Water sprite they also seem to nibble at the roots, this plant will multiply very easly.

I keep sparkling gouramis, so I have a bunch of floating plants in both my quarrantine tank and community tank to keep them happy. I'm very excited about getting the Pearls this week! /:'
