I have a couple of blue gouramies and a dwarf gouramie (male). I don't intend to breed them, but i really like to see them on my community tank, so I'm thinking about buying more 2 to 3 fishs of this kind.

Is it better to have them in couples or is it the same? If they get along better in couples I supose i'll get a dwarf gouramie female and another couple of dwarf gouramies...

in general, labrynth fishes don't get along very well with each other, even with the same species. There have been a number of posts here recently about agression between gouramis and the problems caused by it. You may find that even if you do get females for your males, the males will chase them all over the place, leaving the females looking ragged and miserable. I would be very very careful introducing new gouramis to this community, and be prepared to watch them carefully and check with your lfs to make sure they have a return policy, or have another cyckled tank handy to put them in.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

What size tank would this be?

In general, keeping labyrinth fish together is a no, too much agression. At one point I had a blue and dwarf in a 30g, lots of hiding places, lots of floating plants, but still had enough problems that I had to separate them.

the 3 of them go along just nice and easy, somethimes the blue gourami chases the female buyt nothing to worry about,
should I get a second female to distract the male? And if so is that any problem if she is not the same color kind than the make,

thanks

Another possibility was to get a couple of paradise fish,
will they go along with the others?

My apologies, I thought you were asking if it was ok to put a blue & dwarf together. Glad to hear you're not having problems with them.

I'd say no to the paradise fish. They are like bettas in that 2 males can't be kept together. If you get a M/F they might breed which would cause problems for the other fish.

I would go with an all Gourami tank. Maybe you can have 3/4 different types, if you have enough room.

I have 10 Opaline Gourami and 2 Pearl Gourami all males in my 5ft tank Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://
www.fishprofiles.com/interactive/forums/profile.asp?userid=6741" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] for my tank info

Also what else is in the tank

They get on very well together the Opalines would be the most placid of them all I think (not refering to any of the smaller varieties) they are a good looking blueish colour as well.
