You could (maybe)do one male and three females, but then there would be the question of what to do with the fry. They can easily over populate a ten gallon. Platies do, however; tend to eat their own fry, if there are no hiding places for them. The other species will get too large for your tank. |

Also consider some type of plants for the fry to hide as in a small area they will become easy food for the others. bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004 | yes, swords are one of the larger big 4, when i was in mexico, i did see kinda wild swordtail females at a huge size of 5-6 inches, but still domesticated swordtails shouldn't be in a 10 gallon. |
