Look for a 20 gallon breeder. They're longer than the standard 20 gallon which is better for breeding. You might want to look into actually separating the tank into two or more segments rather than using breeding traps. Only advice I can give on guppies, is get females. I had fry in the bag before I got them home from the store. Also had some born in a tank 6 months after they'd been away from the males. Be ready for lots of fry. ^_^ |

Even if you went to big tank sooner or later it will be over populated. Have you thought what you are going to do with all the fry as they grow up. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. The livebearers i have, where all given to me when they where a few days old & i raised them up. Keep them seperate & only put them together, if you want to breed them. Don't get a small tank for Guppy's, as you'll soon be overpopulated, as they are profilic breeders. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
