On a larger leaf, if you have enough " clinging bubbles" ( sounds like a bathroom cleaner), when they cumulate enough they will rise to the surface of the water. Following the path of least resistance, most of it will find it's way on the same path of the leaf, causing the streaming effect.

You're right though, cut stems, torn leaves, etc will display similar characteristics.

Monster shrimp ( flower shrimp, wood shrimp). Scientific name is Atyopsis Moluccensis. edit - I had asked the lfs to get me whatever freshwater shrimp they could, since they had said previously that they couldn't get cherry shrimp and I didn't want any ghost shrimp. I wasn't prepared for this 4 inch monster though! While they were talking it over with me and showing it to me, before taking me into the office so I could look it up on the internet, they put it in a tank that housed a couple blue florida crayfish... OOPS! Got him out just in time, one of the crayfish had him by the tail and the other was closing in. ( They did get a tiny chunk of that tail too!)

Lastly, a picture of my wife's angel. It's actually mine but I let her adopt it since she liked it. If I'm buying something for " the angel" I don't get henpecked

They whiten a bit when stressed out, like during transport. I've seen them get a wierd yellowish tint when excited as well, usually during ' Hey, I'M THE BOSS!" arguments, which are infrequent. They're a nice peaceful fish, just a little jumpy sometimes.

Here is my 75 gallon tank, in the middle of a rescape. Some brand new crypts on the left, brand new dwarf hairgrass spaced out. ( I need some more grass!). Red Tiger lotus on the right front of the driftwood. Getting some more red plants ( lugwigia glandulosa methinks) as well for some highlights.

my only comment is u can make the gras spread out more if u break the clumps u have. breakt eh clumps and plant the smaller clump or plants about an inche apart and they will spread out quicker. if u leave them in the large clump that they came in with the pot then they are root bound and will not spread as fast

FMZ- It could also be called a singapore shrimp.. many things have more than one common name. It was called a flower shrimp at my lfs, but looking it up online I saw that it was also referred to as a wood shrimp.

Megil - thanks for the input. That was about 4 pots of dwarf hairgrass in that picture. I was kind of scared to break it apart too much and rip all the roots up, so ended up only dividing into two or three clumps. I'll try to go in and divide it a little more though.

Ludwigia glandulosa replaced the green weeds on the left, broke up the dwarf hair grass a little more and got some more of it as well ( a work in progress).

Mango - I have a pressurized co2 setup with a jbl selenoid and bubble counter ( screws on top of the selenoid), aquamedic 1000 co2 reactor, and miluakee ph controller ..10 pound co2 cylinder. For lighting I use a 48" coralife compact fluorescent aqualight with 2 x 65 watt 6700k bulbs and 2 x 55 watt GE 9325k bulbs. Unless I'm mistaken, the 55 watt bulbs get driven at 65W as well, so that would be 260 watts over a 75 gallon, or 3.46 watts per gallon. I stagger the lighting with two timers ( that run the lighting on other tanks as well) so that one 9325k and 6700k bulb go on 1/2 hour earlier than the other two bulbs, and turn off a half hour earlier , 12.5 hours total time a day. 8:30 am to 8:30pm on two of the lights ( all on one switch) and 9:00am to 9:00 pm for the other two ( on a different switch).

I'm really looking forward to that glandulosa filling out the space on the left. I'd never tried that type of lugwigia before, so I was surprised that it looked so good. Here's a closer shot
