After seemingly months on end of medicating the community to eradicate a parasite that was hiding dormant, the gang have now been in unmedicated waters for 2 weeks now and life seems to have returned to normal, also sporting a new set of bulbs in 1 of the light hoods.
Maybe one of these days I'll be able to take a clear pic lol

tank is a 46 bow, in it swims 4 blue gouramis 2M 2F; 9 splendid rainbows, 3M 6F; 2 armored rubbernose plecos, genders unknown for now; and the male rainbow shark.

I thought those pics were great Iron!
I'm so glad your problems seem to be at an end! I remember you telling me about them & how much trouble you went through to find out what it was & cure it!

Interesting aquascaping. You have what I call, one of those nice & neat tanks. Nice contrasting in there too.

Great photos Iron. I viewed them as a slide show and just paused when I wanted a longer look. Saves an awful amount of clicking on each pic.
The blue tinges of the fish seem to blend into the water and glass a bit. Have you considered a backing for your tank? I sticky tape different backings to the back of my tank so I can change them when the mood takes me. Someone even said they use black garbage bags as backing. I might try that one myself.
With the darker substrate, would a few albino or even adolfi corys be good, or would the rainbow shark eat them? I haven't had much to do with rainbow sharks. He does look stunning tho.
You could try your hand at getting a java fern to grow on a rock, or even anubias to grow on your driftwood. Just tie them on with fishing line till they take hold themselves.
I love your pleco. More pleco photos sometime please.

Thanks guys, we ( fishes and myself) owe a heap of thanks to our very own Longhairedgit, time will tell if the parasite has been totally eradicated, as this one is a stubborn one from what I've read up on (not even scratching the surface I'm sure), but so far, no visual signs. During the time of constant medication, I totally spaced off and forgot to replace a set of bulbs ( a pair of 15W 10,000K's) that as of last weekend were 9 months old, oops. Wanted to try something a bit more intense in the blue end or the spectrum, so I popped in a pair of 20,000K...very noticeable difference, that would explain the blue tinges you noticed Brengun,
and those splendids are really fun to watch, especially when one of the males is trying to attract a female to spawn with, the colors really get intense, particularly the "red light " on the gill plate of the males.
Will try to get more pics and get them posted in time.
Thanks again everyone for the compliments and suggestions !

p.s. THANK YOU GIT !!

Hi Iron,
In looking at the pictures you have posted, it appears that
you have two bog/terrarium plants growing fully submerged.
The HERMIGRAPHIS EXOTICA (Purple Waffle) and it looks like
the plant to the right of it with the varigated leaves is
DRACENA SANDERIANA (Varigated Sanderiana). Both are bog
plants and can be submerged for a period of time, but also
must have an emerged period of time as well. They both grow
in areas subject to occassional flooding and are not "true"
aquarium plants.
